  1. Click the picture to the left to open Pre-Reader Express in a new tab.
  2. Before you get started, you can create an account so your progress will be saved. Click the Sign In button in the upper right corner.
  3. On the next screen, you can log in if you already have an account. Otherwise, press the blue Create an Account button.
  4. If you know your Google login and want to use it to create your account, select Continue with Google. Otherwise, you will need to enter an email address. This does not need to be a real email. Use something like firstnamelastinitial@tb.com (ex. jasont@tb.com, meganb@tb.com.
  5. Next, you will create your password and enter it twice. Make sure it matches or you can’t move on! Then press Sign Up.
  6. On the next screen, select Student for the Account Type. Now, you get to create a fun display name. If you need help, use your favorite animal and a 2 digit number (ex. monkey57, panda99). Select your age and your gender (if you want). Then press Go To My Account.
  7. On the next screen, scroll to the bottom and find where you can Join a Section. Enter TRMLVL. Then press Join Section.
  8. You should see a Success! message and now you can see the Pre-Reader Express course. Click on the title to get started. 
  9. From the course page, press the Try Now button to begin. You can continue later from where you leave off as long as you log in.

Visit the Pre-Reader Express page here when you are ready for more projects. You will need to enter the numbered code for each project before you can begin. Have fun!

  1. Click the picture to the left to open BitsBox in a new window.
  2. Press the Get Started button
  3. If this is your first time or you have not created an account, press the Let’s Go button. If you have an account, select Kids Sign In.
  4. Follow the directions to select the Food Fight project from your tablet.
  5. While coding, you must type each line of code manually. NO COPYING AND PASTING!
  6. When finished with the Food Fight app, click the home button to return to your tablet’s home screen.
  7. Press the New App button. For now, choose No when it asks if you have a Bitsbox book or card with you.
  8. Choose at least one of the other four intro projects to complete: Dancin’ Hal, So Long Homework, BlockCraft, or Red Racer.

Creating an Account:

  1. First, update your user settings. From the home screen/tablet, look to the bottom right hand corner of the tablet screen and click on the gear icon. Enter your first name (or a nickname), choose your favorite color,  select your age and whether you are a boy or girl. You may also choose a new background for your tablet. When you are finished, press the tablet’s home button to save your changes. 
  2. Now, you can create your account. Look to the far upper right hand corner of the screen for the hamburger/three line menu button. Press it and then select Save Your Work!
  3.  You will be asked to enter an email and password. For your email, please use the name of an animal with a 4 digit number @tb.com. For example, cobra7531@tb.com or tiger8935@tb.com. Try to choose a four digit number that will be easy to remember, like the last four digits of a phone number you know. 
  4. Password should be the reverse, number then animal (ex. 7531cobra, 8935tiger). Confirm password means to enter the same password again. They want to be sure you typed it correctly. 
  5. Once you’ve entered your email, password, and confirm password, press the Sign Up button and your account will be created.
  6. Do not go any further until you have recorded your username/email and password. If you are participating in person, ask for a Student Login sheet from your instructor if you haven’t already been given one. Use the form below to submit your login details electronically.
  7. Keep working on more coding projects. Have fun!

Visit the BitsBox page here when you are ready for more projects. You will need to enter the numbered code for each project before you can begin. Have fun!

  1. Click the top picture to the left to begin your registration for CS First.
  2. Select the option to Sign in with CS First. Select this option even if you have a Google account you could use.
  3. You will need to enter the class code to join the Create and Code class. The class code is 8dp9b4Press the Next button
  4. Double check that you see the Welcome to TechBrainiacs Create and Code! message. If you already have a CS First username and password, you may enter it here to login.
  5. If you need a username and password, press the link to Create an account at the bottom of the login box.
  6. Check the box that you understand that you should only be creating a new account after discussing it with your instructor.
  7. You will be automatically assigned a username and password. Do not go any further until you have recorded this username and password. If you are participating in person, ask for a Student Login sheet from your instructor if you haven’t already been given one. Use the form below to submit your login details electronically.
  8. Click the check box that says Yes, I wrote my username and password down”, and then press the Sign In button. You may check the “Keep me signed in to CS First on this device” box if you are using your own (non-school) computer.
  9. The next screen will be the My Classes dashboard, where you will select the activity theme and/or activity you will begin. Pick one to get started. Ask your instructor if you need help deciding. 
  10. If choosing one of the longer, multi-day activity themes (Storytelling, Music & Sound, Friends, Fashion & Design, Art, Sports, or Game Design), you will first be given a survey. To skip the survey and go directly to your first project, click Lessons & Badges along the top menu bar. Select Activity #1, video #2: What is Computer Science. Watch this video for an introduction to how you will use CS First and Scratch to complete awesome projects. 
  11. Continue to follow the directions and watch the next videos to get started on your first project.

  2. Now you will create your login. Enter your first name and last initial. There is no need to enter an email address, but you may if you have one you’d like to use. Your username should be an animal followed by a 4-digit number (ex. cobra7531, tiger8935). Password should be the reverse, number then animal (ex. 7531cobra, 8935tiger). Press Create Account when finished.
  3. Select your starting hero character. This can be changed later and does not affect gameplay.
  4. Do not go any further until you have recorded this username and password. If you are participating in person, ask for a Student Login sheet from your instructor if you haven’t already been given one. Use the form below to submit your login details electronically.
    Be sure to write neatly and double check that you’re recording the information correctly. Mistakes here will cost you time in the future!
  5. The next screen will be your Student Dashboard. Press the Start button. Select the first level and get started. Be sure to read everything!

  1. Click the top picture to the left to begin your registration. In the future, you’ll use the bottom picture to log in.

  2. Your username should be an animal followed by a 4-digit number (ex. cobra7531, tiger8935). Your password should be the reverse, number then animal (ex. 7531cobra, 8935tiger). Enter your real age.

  3. You will need to enter a parent’s email so your account can be confirmed. Ask your club leader for assistance.

  4. Check the box that says “I agree with…”, then press the “Sign up for free” button to finish creating your account.

  5. You’re now at the Terminal Two home page. To get started, begin working through Core of Code in the Learning Quests section.

Record your login information here

First time? Here’s how to get started!

  1. Click the picture to the left to begin your registration.
  2. Press Sign Up button and choose “I am a student”.
  3. The class key, which will need to be entered now and every time you log in, is 3cacac. Enter it and press Join Your Class.
  4. Your name won’t be in the list yet. Press “Create a New Account”.
  5. You will sign up with an email. Use yourfirstname@tb.com (ex. jeremy@tb.com, jenny@tb.com). Use the same password as one of your other accounts or come up with a new one. Press Sign Up as a Student to move on.
  6. Enter your real first and last name and a Screen Name of your choosing. Before you move on, write down your username and password on your Student Login sheet. Then, press Start Coding to begin the first lesson. Be sure to read everything!
